Episcopal activist Sue Boulden died March 27, 2007, following open-heart
surgery. Sue led a group of concerned Episcopalians that officially
became Progressive Episcopalians of Pittsburgh in the spring of 2003.
Later that same year, Sue and Lionel Deimel became the first official
leaders of PEP, being elected Co-Conveners. Details of Sue’s
extraordinary life of ministry can be read in the
obituary that appears in today’s Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Sue’s
loving but tenacious passion will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be

English-Bertucci Funeral Home, 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont. A memorial
service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 31, at Calvary
Episcopal Church, 315 Shady Ave., Shadyside.
Sue participated in an Education for Ministry (EFM) group at Calvary
Church. Calvary has set up a Sue Boulden EFM Scholarship Fund in Sue’s
honor. PEP has made a contribution to this fund and recommends that
those who would like to honor Sue do so also. Make your checks payable
to Calvary Episcopal Church, and write “Sue Boulden EFM Scholarship
Fund” on the memo line. Mail your gift to
