May
11, 2010.
PEP will be holding a general membership meeting on May
17, 2010, at Church of the Redeemer, Squirrel Hill. The
main event for the evening is being called “A
Conversation with Bishop Price.” PEP’s guest will be the
provisional bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of
Pittsburgh, the Rt. Rev. Kenneth Price, Jr. Bishop Price
was approved as Pittsburgh’s provisional bishop only at
last year’s diocesan convention. As a result, many
Pittsburgh Episcopalian have not met our bishop or have
had only the most casual interaction with him. The May
17 meeting will provide an opportunity for Bishop Price
to talk about who he is and what he hopes to do during
his brief tenure as provisional bishop.
The meeting will also provide an opportunity for PEP to
give Bishop Price a sense of what Progressive
Episcopalians of Pittsburgh is all about and to
communicate to him our own hopes and concerns about the
future direction of our diocese.
We hope that PEP members will make a special effort to
come to this meeting and will bring their Episcopal
friends along with them. Everyone is invited to this
event.
“A Conversation with Bishop Price” begins at 7:30 pm on
May 17, 2010, at Church of the Redeemer, 5700 Forbes
Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217. Parking is available on
